Paella at Can Solé

Barcelona, February 2016 – Seafood and paella were at the top of our “to-eat” list, and we couldn’t have found a better place for both than Restaurante Can Solé. Founded in 1903, the restaurant serves up traditional marine cuisine. It is located just on a side street off Passeig de Joan de Borbo, the main stretch of the Barceloneta port.

The restaurant was completely packed, with many locals and a few tourists dining there. For the appetizers, Mr. King decided to go healthy with the green salad and grilled green asparagus.

The sautéed baby squids in a tomato sauce were delicious.

The main course was the Paella – rice in squid ink with seafood.

Even my toddler son, Little K enjoyed the paella and ended up licking the rice off his fingers…yup it was that yummy!

If you are next time in Barcelona I recommend to try “7 Portes” and their Paella Parellada (if you haven’t already been there). It is one of my favourites and the place has also a long history & has had many famous visitors over the last decades.

Thanks! Will do! She’s only there for a few days, but I don’t think it will be long before she’s back again.
