Paris, June 2018 – Despite its recent major renovations, Ritz Paris did not loose its original style, but just seemed to be refreshed. Mr. King and I dropped by for a quick afternoon tea, after shopping at Place Vendôme.
Bar Vendôme indeed looked very different than its previous interiors, pre-renovations. The Parisian brasserie has a glass canopy that allows natural light to come through, even in winter weather.
Since it was already 5pm, we ordered some tea along with light snacks – Roulé croustillant, jambon au Comté (Crispy ham and Comté cheese sandwiches). As always, the service was excellent, and the presentation was meticulous.
Being a sentimentalist (my previous post – Pink Robes & Cherry Juice at Ritz Paris), I strolled around the galleries where the shops were located. The Ritz Paris boutique offered a range of pretty exclusive gift items (such as pink Ritz face towels or Ritz Breakfast Tea); these made memorable souvenirs.
Perhaps, the most charming part of the Ritz is its gardens, perfectly symmetric and beautifully manicured. There is no doubt that Ritz remains one of the most iconic, elegant hotel in Paris.
