National Kitchen

Singapore, Nov 2015 – Last night, Mr. King and I attended the National Gallery Singapore’s opening celebrations, which included not only a journey through the art space but a culinary journey by tasting “artistic” cuisine at the restaurants located inside the museum.

National Kitchen by Violet Oon is a true culinary ambassador of Singapore’s heritage.  Her Nyonya cuisine is complemented with a mix of Chinese, Indian, Malay and British dishes that reflect Singapore’s history.

Her restaurant is quaintly decorated with peranakan tiles in floral motives, black wall paneling and chandeliers.

The canapés being served were only a small sampling of her repertoire of tasty dishes. Each dish was artistically presented and tasted delicious. If you enjoy spicy food, you will love it!
