Singapore, November 2013 – Having missed THE LITTLE BLACK JACKET’s debut in Hong Kong last year, I was excited when the exhibition arrived in Singapore. How many ways can you imagine wearing Chanel’s iconic Little Black Jacket?

Well, Carine Roitfeld (former Editor-in-Chief of VOGUE Paris and current Global Fashion Director of Harper’s BAZAAR) styled over 120 looks for this project.

THE EXHIBITION : THE LITTLE BLACK JACKET Chanel’s Classic Revisited – Photos by Karl Lagerfeld and Styled by Carine Roitfeld.

THE JACKET: The Chanel Classic was designed by Coco Chanel in the 1950s, based on her inspiration from Austrain men’s jackets.

THE CAST: comprises an extremely diverse group in age from toddlers to the elderly, in profession from models, actresses, artists to musicians, across ethnic groups and across gender – both men and women. Some famous faces include Kayne West, Tilda Swinton, Mark Walberg, Virginie Ledoyen, Baptiste Giabiconi, Stella Tennant and Sarah Jessica Parker.

THE PHOTOS: believe that each person’s take of an exhibition is personal. What appeals to one person may not another…for whatever reason – culture, age, aesthetics, perspectives etc.

Of course, I am always intrigued by the iconic Linda Evangelista. And is Freja the most stylish nun ever?Forever love S J P !Ah, angelic Kiera!

Whimsical Yoko Ono…what a dancer!My personal favourites  – Carine Roitfeld (Coco Chanel reincarnated) and Anna Wintour (Youknow it is Anna instantly without look at the description). What a statement!Over the years, Lagerfeld had a number of muses, including some of the famous faces above – Inez, Carole, Linda, Diane, Kiera….all beautiful!
