Singapore, January 2015 – Mr. King and I decided to do a family lunch at Osia, located in Resorts World Sentosa (integrated resort complex). With Little K (3 years old) in tow, we went there for lunch on a Saturday.
We were able to secure a table by walking in. Since Osia has been awarded 1-Michelin Star in July 2016, I would imagine it is a bit tougher to get a table thereafter.
The waiters were very friendly, so Little K didn’t feel out of place in this stylish restaurant.
We ordered the 2-courses set. The price was very reasonable, at $35 for 3 courses and $25 for 2 courses.
One of the most memorable things about Osia was that the bread was chargeable, but they did have this wonderful Stone Hearth Flat Bread ($11). We tried the Truffled Kalamata Olive flat bread, which came with a tube of smoked eggplant puree. It was very tasty.
Appetizers:
Carrot Orange Ginger – Puree Soup, Smoked Fjord Trout , Parsley
Yellowtail Amberjack – Cardamon Citrus Cured, Fennel, Orange Ginger Foam
Main Courses:
Chicken Breast Capellini, Bell Pepper Coulis, Parsley
Grilled Baramundi Fillet – garnished with vegetables and potatoes
Grilled Norwegian Salmon –garnished with vegetables and potatoes
Given that the portions were very generous, we were quite full, and skipped dessert.
Our toddler boy finished his cappellini, without any help from us. On the menu, the Chicken Breast Capellini was supposedly “spicy”, but the chef made a non-spicy dish for our child. I would say this is a child-friendly restaurant, and not too formal.
Dinner is certainly a popular time to visit Osia, but lunch is relaxing and a great value for money.
