Singapore, July 2016 – The Michelin stars have arrived in the Lion City at last! The Inaugural (First Edition) Michelin Guide for Singapore was released last night, and stars were awarded to a number of fine dining as well as hawker food restaurants.
The Michelin stars went to 29 establishments in Singapore. Only one restaurant was awarded Three Michelin stars – Joel Robouchon at Resort World Sentosa.
The Straits Times published the list, see below and click here to read more about Singapore’s Michelin Guide.
Here are some of my personal favourites that were given the prestigious accolades.
Two Michelin Stars
Restaurant ANDRE (French cuisine, “Innovative”)
L’Atelier de Robouchon (French cuisine)
Les Amis, Shaw Centre (French cuisine)
Odette, National Gallery Singapore (French cuisine)
Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentoro (Chinese cuisine)
One Michelin Star
Summer Pavilion, The Ritz Carlton, Millenia (Chinese cuisine)
Corner House, Botanic Gardens (Gastro-Botanica)
Shinji by Kanesaka, Raffles Hotel (Japanese cuisine, sushi)
Shinji by Kanesaka, St. Regis Hotel (Japanese cuisine, sushi)
Sushi Ichi, Singapore (Japanese cuisine, sushi)
The Song of India (Indian cuisine)

I assume that it will be more difficult to make reservations at these restaurants now. But I guess the wait is worth it, for an amazing culinary experience!
