Singapore, October 2016 – There is no shortage of delicious Indian cuisine in Singapore, but The Song of India is definitely one of the finest Indian restaurants, combining authentic Indian food with an elegant ambience. It was garnered Michelin 1-Star in the inaugural edition of the Michelin Guide in July 2016, and is Singapore’s only Michelin-star Indian restaurant.
The restaurant is situated inside a colonial plantation bungalow on the fringe of Singapore’s prime shopping district.
Mr. King and I went there for a buffet lunch, which is served daily. The price was also very reasonable, at SGD29.90. The spread was impressive.
Fish Tikka, Tandoori Chicken and Vegetables were served individually, direct from the chef to our table. The homemade Naan bread was warm, crunchy and seasoned with just the right amount of garlic butter.
The selection included: Subz Shai Shorba Soup, Butter Chicken, Kerala Fish Curry, Chicken Dum Biryani, a selection of vegetarian salads, desserts – Dry Fruit Seviya Kheer, Mango Shrikhand & Moong Dal Halwa (sweet potatoes).
If you enjoy spices and are adventurous, you would surely enjoy The Song of India!
