Singapore, May & August 2017 – My latest favourite restaurant in Singapore is Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar – a creation by world acclaimed Chef Jean Georges Vongerichten. This post is long overdue since I have already been there several times over the past year.
I absolutely fell in love with the décor – colonial botanical garden. The white rattan chairs are so dramatic, yet whimsical.

Aside from the hefty price tag on the signature dish – toast egg yolk and caviar S$38, the appetizers, salad, pasta & pizza were reasonably priced between $8-28, while the main courses were on average $35.
My dinner there in May was definitely more refined than lunch. Portions were generous and our selections were quite delicious.
Lightly Fried Calamari, Yuzu Dip, Sesame

Black Truffle and Fontina Chesse Pizza

Lobster, Saffron Tapioca, Gewurztraminer Foam, Passion Fruit

Salmon with Black Truffle Emulsion, Potato Puree, Sugar Snap Peas

Mixed Berry Pavlova

My lunch there in August comprised of nice light bites for two ladies.
Burrata with Heirloom Tomatoes, Basil

Warm Shrimp, Avocado, Tomato, Champagne Vinegar Dressing

Veal Milanese, Arugula and Tomatoes

Almond Cake, Crème Fraiche, Strawberries

Indoor seating is recommended, as it gets a bit stuffy on the patio, and the outdoor table facing the carpark must be avoided.
